If you’ve recently purchased a new motorcycle the last thing that’s probably on your mind right now is the model’s maintenance and care. However, while your motorcycle may be in pristine condition right now, to keep it in tip-top shape you’ll need to keep a close eye on your model’s regular maintenance and upkeep. For tips on how to keep your new motorcycle performing at its best, check out our article below.

Cleaning Your Motorcycle

You’d be surprised how many common maintenance issues can be avoided by simply keeping your motorcycle spic and span. If you’ve recently purchased a new motorcycle we recommend giving it a quick cleaning at least once every 3 months. Every 6 months or so we recommend giving your model a deep cleaning and applying a protective wax and polish to your new motorcycle.

Flush Engine Fluids

While everyone knows you need to perform regular oil changes to keep your motorcycle running smoothly, there are a variety of other important engine fluids that need to be cared for that often end up falling by the wayside. Gasoline, for example, needs to be kept fresh otherwise it could gum up your new motorcycle’s fuel system. Your new motorcycle’s coolant, transmission, and brake fluid also need to be checked every 3 to 6 months or so to ensure they’re still in good condition. If you see signs of leaking, condensation, debris, or discoloration, have your fluids flushed immediately.
